    1. With us It did, but we had to wait for long for things to get clear from both sides. But we had to wait for 1 and half day on the road and that night was the most difficult night for all of us.

    1. This time in Uttarakhand big g amount of rains and with it I am sure land slides must have taken place, really ghastly situation. the weekly challange this week reminded me of all that I went through about 5 years back when I went there.so this is one of the pics of that time, very apt for the theme.

  1. Very POWERFUL images to stir the imagination….it seems the experiences which are the most challenging for us….produce some of the most beautiful outcomes both in photography, as in life….Thank you for sharing yours.

    1. Himalays can be wonderful but at the same time can be dangerous also, especially when you get stuck in landslide or you come across those rains. to be very honest I was really scared but we made it. It does teach us a lot.

  2. Reblogged this on ArjunGabriel and commented:

In the wake of the tragedy in state of Uttarakhand, the northern state of India I am reblogging my post which I had put up last year. I did experience similar kind of nature in the year 2008 when I had gone for trek in the same area. the things which are happening this year are much bigger than what we had experienced. I am full of emotions when I saw news channels and read news paper. My heart goes to them who are caught in the middle of this calamity.
I want to add my critical comment but I will refrain for now.

  3. I am glued to the TV and internet too. My heart goes out to all the people there. I was all ready to go next month….only praying for everyone there…

    1. I am sure you will consult authorities before leaving. I can see lot of destruction as lot of roads are closed or not there.
As I said I have spend one full night on the road, 15th Aug 2008 and mind you it is very difficult. It was challenging for me emotionally and mentally, Nerve-wrecking experience
when you visit Himalayas, you see both the extremes, the best as well as worst.
But on a positive note All the very best for your travel and i hope you will take all care before leaving.
